The Law of Attraction Makes Procrastination A Thing of the Past
Sometimes we end up being our own worst enemy, due to our behaviors such as procrastination. Many famous quotes have been coined that explain how procrastination can certainly ruin any opportunity that comes your way.
“Oh, how I wish I could overcome procrastination! Somebody please help me stop procrastinating! But not today, I’m busy.”
It is going to take serious work and plenty of dedication to change such a behavior though. Yet you deserve to break free from the chains that procrastinating brings to your life. You need to work hard to let go of all the negative energy that is associated with it. If you slip at times then just learn from it and keep working hard to make changes that are going to provide you with the positive sources of energy you can really benefit from.
Put these two together and if you are a procrastinator, you will attract procrastinators and will be doomed for life! On the other hand, it is also to be acknowledged that at times, despite our focus on our goals and our positive energy, things to not fall into place, some things just go wrong. This we would ascribe to a ‘higher power’ or higher energy that overpowers our energies, that controls what happens to us. There are times when despite our efforts to control our energies we have still delayed our actions, we have procrastinated.
For example consider a child who is going to a party. She may have anticipated it all day long. She gets ready early but then realizes there is something on the dress she picked out. She won’t let it spoil her good time though. She has plenty of time to get the dress cleaned up or she will simply choose another one to wear. Another child may have waited until the very last minute to prepare for the party as they are a procrastinator. When they find that their dress has something on it they may end up very upset as they are not going to be late for the party.
What is the true factor behind your proscratination? Many people will soon discover that it has to do with the emotion of fear. They use procrastination to hide behind so they don’t have to take any risk. They are so frozen by the thought of not succeeding that they never allow themselves the opportunity to try. This isn’t something that you want to allow to happen to you though. That is simply feeding into the negative energy that is out there. Visualize yourself as succeeding and changes are you will.
It can be hard to move out of the comfort zone that procrastinating has offered you for so long though. You can do it, but you should be taking one small step at a time. Otherwise you risk becoming overwhelmed. This will result in you slipping back into your old habits even if you don’t want to.
Do you often feel guilty after you have procrastinated? If so, you aren’t alone but the point to focus on is how you are going to successfully change your behaviors. You need to let go of that negative energy and replace it with motivation and inspiration so you can generate positive energy as well.
If you are interested in getting past your issues of procrastination here are some great places to start:
1. Writing - If you write down your goals you will be able to visualize them. Place them on the refrigerator, a bulletin board, your bathroom mirror, or any other place where you are sure to see them all the time.
2. Make it manageable - If you procrastinate because something seems to be too big for you to tackle then you need to break it down into pieces. You can set smaller goals that will be stepping stones to achieving the entire thing. Make sure you celebrate these small successes too as they will certainly help you to create even more positive energy. Each of the smaller goals that you achieve will help you build confidence in your ability to control what does take place in your life.
3. Procrastination can suffocate a person so you need to be careful of it. The easiest way to do this is just to start something NOW. Don’t say you will when you have time or next week, or at the end of the month. The opportunity is right before you NOW so you need to have the self discipline to reach out there for it with both hands.
4.Reward yourself - when you accomplish each project as well as each milestone.
5. Forgive yourself and you will be happier. If you make mistakes then accept responsibility for that. Instead of allowing negative energy to take over while you are kicking yourself in the butt for it, learn from it and move on. Stay positive and take a close look at your goals again. You definitely need to be able to stop procrastinating so that the Law of Attraction can work for you.
