Finding Tennis Lessons

by Gary Pearson

Have you reached the end of you skill set in your tennis game, or are you just starting to play and need some guidance? If so, you will probably want some tennis lessons to get you started. Whether you are a beginner or expert player, tennis lessons can be a huge benefit in advancing your game. Why settle for being mediocre at something that you could be great at? Most communities offer tennis lessons for all ages and skill levels, so get out there and bring your family along with you. After all, tennis is exercise and we all need some.

Much like with golf, you may be able to find tennis lessons given by a professional. This will highly depend on where you live. If there is no pro near you, or they aren’t giving lessons, you are out of luck in that department. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t get great lessons for you and your family. Sometimes, you may even be able toget these lessons for free.

If you have a gym or YMCA/YWCA in your area go and check them out. Or go to local tennis courts and see if they have times and contacts for tennis lessons. Ask tennis players if they know anywhere you can go to get lessons. Join a tennis league, many offer free lessons once you have joined and have reserved tennis courts for certain days of the week. Sign up your whole family; it’s a great activity to do together.

Before starting playing tennis, you need to have the proper equipment. Whether you are new to the game or have been playing for years, you should consider getting a new tennis racquet. The racquets these days are super light and very strong. They are also quite affordable. While you’re at it find yourself some nice tennis clothes to wear to the court. Also make sure that your sneakers are non-marking so they don’t scuff up the court.

Even if you have played tennis before, you may wish to consider taking tennis lessons to help you improve. Or you can search the Internet for tennis playing pointers. They can give you an extra edge to your game that maybe you didn’t have before. Some tennis forums also offer message boards where you can find someone to play with too.
