Swedish massage is now built into massage chair recliners. Most people think massage chairs are just simple vibrating chairs. But in fact, massage chairs are technologically sophisticated with items such as heat, music, stretching and various massage therapies. Swedish massage is one of the most basic massage techniques. It is a set of 6 elements, which for a massage therapist is easy to perform. However, to replicate the movements in a massage chair presents a set of fairly complex challenges to overcome. However, Henrik Ling, the developer of the Swedish massage in the 18th century might be very impressed with how his technique has progressed through time and is now incorported into massage chairs.

Most of us experience stress in our daily lives. We may be under pressure at work which gives us mental stress. Mental stress causes us to tense up which means are muscles are not relaxing. We may be working out and exerting more physical activity. The muscles become sore and ache after being under the stress of exercise. Both mental and physical stress can take its toll on the body.

Swedish massage was developed to help relieve the daily build up of stress in the body. The Swedish massage technique can alleviate pain, aches and soreness. Swedish massage is considered one the most basic massage styles and helps to alleviate and remove the tension, anxiety and pain on a periodic basis to improve well being.

Swedish massage uses 6 elements which are effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapottement, traction and vibration. Effleurage uses long sweeping strokes covering many parts of the body. Petrissage uses kneading and squeezing of the muscles. Friction or heat helps muscles relax and helps blood flow. Tapottement is the use of a tapping or chopping motion to loosen muscles. Traction is the pulling and stretching of the arms and legs. Vibration is used to shake and loosen muscles to relieve tension and stimulate the capillary vessels.

These 6 techniques have been integrated into the best massage chair recliners on the market today. These massage recliners uses different mechanical components to accomplish these massage techniques. Effleurage is performed by rollers in the chair back and covers the neck, shoulders and back. Petrissage is performed by the rollers moving toward each other in a pinching or kneading movement. Friction is accomplished by adding heating elements in the chair to warm up areas of the body. Tapottement is performed by the rollers doing a rhythmic tapping action. Traction is used in the lower body by mechanically raising and then lowering the footrest to stretch the lower body out. Vibration is performed by the placement of vibrating motors in strategic locations in the chair.

Check out Panasonic and Omega Massage because their massage chairs have advanced the Swedish massage technique the most. The Omega Montage Elite and the Omega Montage Premier massage chair both offer all 6 elements of Swedish massage. Omega has integrated full body heat into both of these chairs. Panasonic with the Real Pro Elite does not offer heat, so it is lacking one element of Swedish massage. Not all chairs offer the Swedish massage elements. A great place to start is with the Real Pro Elite by Panasonic or the Omega Montage Premier massage chair.

Swedish massage has come along way from the days of Henrik Ling. Mr. Ling would be amazed that the techniques he pioneered have been engineered into the robotic massage chairs of today. Many of the same benefits provided by his pioneering efforts can be found in these mechanical masseuses. However, Mr. Ling found the real benefits of Swedish massage when it was performed on a routine basis. Sporadic visits to the Spa are not as effective as periodic application. If you are looking for Swedish massage techniques, a massage chair recliner is an excellent way to perform on a routine basis.

Swedish massage is a set of 6 elements developed in the 18th century by Henrik Ling. Ling pioneered the use of 6 integrated elements which effectively allowed the body to absorb more oxygen. This is now called classic massage and is found throughout the world. These 6 elements are now being replicated by technology and are available in massage chair recliners. The premier massage chairs brands of today offer music, heat, tretching and an array of massage therapies. The 6 elements of Swedish massage are available in the best massage chairs.

In our daily lives we run up against stress. It just seems to come with our day to day challenges. When we work under pressure, we start with mentally putting pressure on certain areas, some positive, some negative. The negative ones start fear reactions which tense up the muscles. We can become stressed on a mental level and also on a physical level. If this stress is allowed to build up, it begins to effect other parts of the body.

To help alleviate the pain, aches and soreness, massage treatments have been developed and practiced through time. Swedish massage is considered one the most basic massage styles. Swedish massage is aimed at alleviating pain and to enhance the body’s health. It helps detoxify the body by increasing cell metabolism which eliminates their waste materials.

The premier massage chair brands now offer these 6 elements of Swedish massage. The sophisticated software runs the chairs electro-mechanical systems delivering effective Swedish massage. The integration of heating elements, air compression systems, mechanical massage rollers and even music makes for one unique experience. These robotic masseuses perform all 6 elements of Swedish massage on demand.

Not all massage chair recliners can perform all 6 techniques. All techniques are performed to different degrees and can vary from model to model and from manufacturer to manufacturer. Omega Massage’s Montage Elite massage chair and the Panasonic Real Pro Elite have the most comprehensive Swedish massage techniques. The Montage Elite is the most comprehensive Swedish because it has full body heat capabilities where the Panasonic Real Pro Elite does not. Try them both and decide for yourself.

Swedish massage has come along way from the days of Henrik Ling. Mr. Ling would be amazed that the techniques he pioneered have been engineered into the robotic massage chairs of today.
You should first make the right choices when choosing paintball accessories. Reserve batteries: some guns require batteries to function. It would be such a waste of time if in the middle of the game the batteries died and you could not continue to play so keep new batteries available.

Oil ole’! Make sure that there is a small can of oil for the paintball gun inside the box as well. Sometimes weather dictates if the gun needs oiling; be sure to get the specific oil type recommended by the manual for the gun.

And for the player, always have a neck guard around to save the neck from those disturbing shots that hit your neck. There may be a team available to do first aid when something goes wrong but it would make sense to carry a personal first aid kit. Carry around spare basic safety “gadgets” like a mask, gloves, and pads and have a worry free paintball game.

Playing Fair in the Game of Paintball

Paintball is an extreme game that is gaining in popularity. Though the inventors of this game did it for fun, it has evolved into the third most popular game in the world.

The facemask may fog due to sweat, paint or dirt. When this happens, the player should inform the referee so that he can be escorted away from the field before returning to the game. In case the facemask falls off, the same rule applies. During such instances, the opposing team is not allowed to fire at that person.

Players are not allowed to curse or hit the other players. This game is about fun and anyone caught will also be taken out of the game.

People who love to play war games will surely enjoy the game of Paintball. This game which has been around for more than 20 years involves a lot of running, crawling and shooting that makes a person feel as though it is the real thing.

The game can be played either on a small scale or large scale. Small scale can be the size of a basketball court with barrels and other obstructions to give cover for the player. This is usually called recreational. Each team should have five to ten players in order to play.

Paintball is ranked as the third most popular extreme game in the world. It is also considered a safe sport with only a few reported minor injuries. This will continue as long as the players abide by the rules. Those who are interested can sign up at their local club and join in the fun.

by Gary Pearson

A few years ago my wife and I decided that we needed something to do during the week to get us away from the dreaded boob tube. After hearing on our local news about the lack of after school activities for local kids we decided we’d try getting involved. We ended up coaching youth basketball.

Now that it’s been a few months and we’ve worked out the kinks, we are loving it. Our ‘kids’ as we call them have become our second family. We both look forward to the weeknights when we coach, and can’t wait for the next game to come. Win or lose, we are all having a great time.

Kids these days need distractions to keep them from getting into trouble. Organized sports help kids stay off drugs, away from gangs, and in school. This is an amazing result for just shooting a few hoops. Every once in a while you may find yourself in the presence of true talent and you can consider yourself the one who helped it be discovered. Your influence actually helps these kids have safer lives and better futures.

Thinking about all the positive influence you could have, why don’t you coach youth basketball? There’s no reason why you couldn’t. Help make a difference in a bunch of kids’ lives while getting you out of the house. Make the neighborhood a better place by single-handedly reducing drug usage and crime.

So no matter what your age or skill level, you can become a youth basket ball coach. All it takes is some training, maybe a few books and videos, and you are on your way. As long as you are patient with your kids and work on building a quality, long-lasting relationship you will be successful, and so will your kids. It’s time we all started giving back to society, so why not start with being a basketball coach?

One very entertaining sport that can provide days of extreme fun, very fast paced movements, and a really adrenaline packed experience is wakeboarding. This guide has been put together to help you enjoy the experience provided by such a great activity and minimize the learning curve a little for what some might consider a pretty tough sport. By following this guide you may find that you have what it takes to wake board with only an hour or so of practice.

First things first: one of the most important things to remember while wakeboarding is the proper position. You should be lying on your back with your feet and the rest of the board facing the boat. The board should be perpendicular and make a aTa shape with the tow rope. Lastly, making sure that your knees are bent properly and somewhat springy; you should rest the rope in your hands over the middle of the wake board and be sure you are headed toward the boat.

As the boat begins to accelerate, you will need to lean back slowly. Another very important tip to remember is not to try standing up while the boat is accelerating forward. This is a common mistake made by beginners that you will want to avoid. You should let the boat pull you slowly up to a standing position as you accelerate.

One you begin to move towards the upright position, you will slowly have to move your dominant foot to the front of the board, and use this foot to lead you, like you were riding a skateboard. Use a swinging motion, and do it slowly and smoothly. This is one of the most difficult portions of learning how to wakeboard, but keep it up and you’ll master it!

The key to having fun is to really get comfortable with the wakeboard and the fast paced changes. After you are in the standing position, and have moved your foot forward into the lead position, you will want to be sure to move very smoothly, gliding across the water with the waves and the cadence of the ocean. Keeping the tow handle at you hip a” the one facing toward the boat a” will help you to avoid any face plants into the water!

Another aspect of steering the wakeboard includes shifting your weight back and forth between the heels and toes. This allows you to move, again somewhat like a skateboard, in the respective direction of your choice. You will have gone easily in and out of the wake a few times after really getting this part down solidly.

One great way to increase your wakeboarding fun is through wakeboarding towers. A wakeboarding tower is used to give the tow line a higher point of contact with the boat. Using a wakeboarding tower tower in this way allows you to move easier and more freely in the water. These are great ways to enhance your wakeboarding experience.

Following these tips and simple instructions, you can be on your way to hours of enjoyment with a healthy and entertaining activity for yourself and your friends. Wakeboarding’s appeal comes from its extreme nature and fast paced movements, which attract anybody with a taste for a little excitement. Hope you put these great tips to use and start wakeboarding in as little as an hour!

It was a quite day in a small Bar in upstate New York . The girl working behind the bar was young, she had just turned 21 and had only been bar tending a few weeks, this was her first time working alone. Everything was going fine with only two of the regulars in the back shooting pool it was nothing she could not handle she thought to herself.

Then the front door opened and in walked ten of the biggest men she had ever seen. They talked loudly and as they walked over to the far side of the bar, She got a look at the back of their jackets. She could easily see that the markings on them where all the same. The men ordered pitchers of beer and their talking only got louder as they drank more and talked about things she did not understand. Then the men went quite as the front door opened and in walked seven more large men, at first she thought these seven men where with the first Ten as they looked and dressed similar but as she looked at the markings on the backs of these new comers Jackets she could tell while they where similar the markings where different, By the way the two groups where looking at each other she guessed the difference must mean a lot to them.

The Seven men sat up toward the front of the bar and also ordered pitchers of beer. The young girl did her best to make sure both groups where kept happy, but it was just a matter of time and Beer! When one of the men from the first group called out to her, “Hey Honey don’t worry about those guys, there losers! Come over here and hang with some real men.” That was all it took, the fuse was lit. “Who you calling losers pal we are good enough to beat you any day of the week!” Yelled back a guy from the second group. “You may think your as good as us but you never will be!” Yelled back a man from the first group.

Then in what was a blur to our young barmaid a fight broke out between the two groups it was loud and she could hear glass and wood breaking all around her as the men cursed and screamed at each other. This young Girl was scared and she feared for her life.

Her fear abated a little when in the distance she heard sirens. The police are coming, she thought to herself as she hid behind the bar. The police arrived in force and they stormed in arresting the men and taking them away. When things got quite and all the men where taken away the young girl looked around the small bar. So much damage she thought to herself, She looked at one of the officers and asked how did you know to come here. We got a call that these two groups where both heading to this bar and we just knew, it happens all the time with these type of guys!!!

Epilogue: The next morning when the young barmaid awoke she walked down stairs to the kitchen where her father was reading the morning paper. Does it say anything about the fight in the bar yesterday she asked her father? Yes he said as he pointed to a small article in the back of the paper “Yankees and Mets fans Brawl it out in small town bar” the story went on to explain how all the men where given tickets for disorderly conduct and released. That’s it she screamed at her father these men trash the bar, scare the hell out of me, They should all be in jail and all they get is Tickets!!! Calm down sweetheart her father said as he hugged her, The way your acting one would think it had been a bunch of rowdy Bikers in the bar yesterday! Those Guys would have been locked away, But it was only Sports fans!

Don’t miss any powder day’s this season from weak legs or ski injuries!

Every time I sit down to read a skiing magazine or see another so called ‘expert’ recommending specific workouts for skier’s, I have to cringe when I see some of the workouts they recommend! After all, isn’t the goal of an effective skier fitness training routine to reduce injuries while also building incredible strength and stamina in your legs and core?

We all want to tear up the slopes as long as possible each day and avoid the dreaded ‘jello legs’ that might cut our day of skiing short, and even prevent those nagging injuries that may even cut our season short.

Here’s the problem I see with traditional exercise routines that are being recommended for skiers are that they not only use inefficient workouts that don’t carry over that well to actual skiing mechanics, but also may even be setting you up for an injury. For example, if you’ve seen workout routines that are recommending mechanical leg presses, machine leg extensions, and mechanical leg curls, please run screaming from that workout recommendation as fast as you can! It will only set you up for injury, and won’t even help your goal of strength and endurance that’s actually applicable to skiing mechanics.

The same can be said if you see authors recommending smith mechanical squats or any smith mechanical workouts whatsoever… they should all be avoided as smith mechanical movements follow unnatural patterns (which are not biomechanically correct) that can create excessive stress on the back and possible injury there and/or in the knees.

Now what about wall squats workouts(aka ‘wall sits’)? Although almost every fitness program for skier’s in existence recommends this workout for skiers, I don’t find it to be optimal. It’s a step in the right direction compared to the mechanical-based workouts that I mentioned previously. But, wall sits are still not a truly effective exercise that carries over directly to strength and endurance throughout the entire range of motion that your legs use during a day on the slopes. This workout can be mildly effective since even an isometric exercise held for endurance in one joint angle will still carry over to a slightly wider range of motion, but I actually have at least a dozen workouts that are MUCH more effective than wall squats.

One of the other major faults that I’ve found with typical workout ski fitness routines that often neglect getting a proper joint to strength balance (proper ratios of strength between hamstrings, quadriceps, etc). Skiing demands a lot of work from your quad’s and less work from your ham’s and glute’s, it is still very important for injury prevention to maintain proper strength ratios between the muscle groups of your body and to make sure the smaller stabilizer muscles around the joints are correctly strengthened. This is another factor that’s left out in most ski centered workout programs.

Dining out is a big part of many people’s lives. Maybe you’re eating out more frequently because you entertain clients. Perhaps you don’t like eating out. Either way, if you want to keep a nice trim body, restaurant meals will give you a huge obstacle to overcome. In fact, eating out is one of the biggest reasons why so many people fatten up while the road.

Below, I’ll give you a few very simple tricks you can use to eat healthier and stay lean even while dining out at restaurants…

The 3 most important things to avoid that are everywhere at restaurants are:

*** any sodas, juices and other sugary foods (except fresh fruits, which are great) *** deep fried foods (anything dropped in a scorching bath of trans fats) *** refined starchy foods

Skip these 3 culprits and you’ll eliminate most of the major food sources that do the worst damage to our food supply - trans fats, processed vegetable oils, refined starchy carbohydrates, and processed sugars.

Ok, so what do you need to do? Well, this means you should try to skip the cheap white bread, cut out the french fries that come with every single sandwich on every menu known to man, and wipe out all of the huge portions of pasta and rice that are often loaded on the plates as well.

Substitute a salad for the typical french fries, pasta, or rice, that most restaurant meals come with. And of course eat your meat and other vegetables as usual.

Almost every restaurant I have ever been to will always allow me to change to vegetables or side salad for the regular french fries or chips that almost always come with burgers or sandwiches.

On a side note, it still amazes me that people scrutinize me because I substitute veggies for french fries and tell me that I am ‘not living’ because I refuse to eat fatty french fries… are you kidding me! If that’s your idea of ‘living it up’, you need to get some better hobbies!

Ironically, these same people are the first to complain that they are fat, overweight and have tried ‘everything’, yet can not lose their big guts. I am not sure why so many people think eating deep fried foods equals ‘living it up’… I am for moderation with many things, but there are 2 things that should be totally removed from every diet because these foods are simply dangerous… it is sodas and fries!

Take a look at the typical difference a simple substitution makes between choosing smart and doing what other people do…

Most people will eat a meal out such as this:

    * Burger or sandwich or burger * chips or fries * soda or other sweetened drink (and no, diet sodas are NOT healthy!)

Here’s a MUCH smarter alternative if you care about your body and health:

    * Salad or fresh raw veggies * Burger or other delicious sandwich * unsweetened iced tea or water (no diet pop — unless you like to drink poison!)

These 2 simple substitutions every time you eat out can save you around 400 - 900 calories… AND you are cutting out the poison’s to your body as well, by avoiding the trans fats and fructose corn syrup from the fries and soft drinks.

Here’s a side note: a little-known way to eat full portions of pasta, rice, and breads and actually get away with it without packing on the body fat is to make sure to schedule a high intensity full body resistance training exercise (can be free weights or body weight training) BEFORE your scheduled meal time.

Sometimes it may be hard to fit the workout into your schedule right before the meal, but if you can, the meal can be your ‘post-workout meal’. After a high intensity resistance training workout, your body can handle a higher amount of carbohydrates than usual to help replenish the muscle glycogen depleted during the intense exercise you had.

Your moderate intensity cardio workout will NOT work for this… it must be high intensity resistance training to deplete enough glycogen in the muscle to handle restaurant portions of these carbohydrates.

I hope these dining tips help you make smarter and healthier choices for a leaner body next time you eat out.

You may be considering whether or not you should restore your old photographs; if you are the first thing you must figure out is which problem you want to fix first. At times it is obvious to see which problem should be fixed first; some of your photos might have tears or a bad case of red eye. However, some of your photos will undoubtedly have a variety of problems which must be corrected in the proper sequence so when you solve one problem you may be correcting an entirely different problem at the same time. Here are a few problems you might attack.

* The first thing you want to do is fix any structural problems. Torn or ripped sections should be scanned and repaired using Photoshop Elements tools so that you will have a whole picture to work with in order to correct other problems.

* The next thing you will want to do is to correct any contrast issues. Are your photographs too light or dark? This can be easily overcome using the Brightness/Saturation levels in Photoshop Elements.

* Correct simple problems such as “red eye” and dust spots.

* Once you have finished adjusting the contrast you can tackle any other color adjustments you wish to make using modification tools such as the color picker. You can lighten or darken any existing color, or change the color completely to suit your taste.

* Using the cropping tool you can remove or replace any content you do not want in the photo. Simply replace those undesirable objects with a more pleasing background.

All of these repairs can be easily accomplished using an inexpensive program such as Photoshop Elements. Be brave and experiment with your photo editing program. You can always go back and undo anything that does not return the results that you desire.

When your catches are not as you wish there are many tricks to try; and improving the pulling-power of your hook baits is just one of these but it is a massively important one! Carp can be very difficult to tempt when previously hooked before on any bait, so aiming to make your hook baits unique can really pay-off. Liquid bait soaks have always been successful but you can make you own homemade ones very easily…

You can make homemade dips using many house-hold food items including oils and juices from tinned fruits and canned fish. Pastes and pastes are very under-used items and mix with various liquids to make effective nutritional cheap dips. It is cheaper to make homemade boilies but steam them instead of boiling them for better catches!

Coat your baits in bait dough or paste. This is this best way to fish a base mix paste because all the water soluble goodies get to work to the maximum effect on carp stimulus receptors. You might liquidise or just mash some tinned salmon, sardines, herring or mackerel and add wheat flour or ground-up dog mixers with some hemp or sesame seed oil for example; aim to be different!

Many anglers under-exploit their readymade baits they use because they have a relatively impervious surface. You can break-up this surface with a baiting needle, or sharp pointed knife or scissors to get more attraction out of your bait. Making your hook baits irregular shapes with irregular surfaces helps by making fish think your bait has been previously chewed on by other fish and so is safer.

Try coating your baits with a dough or paste. This does not have to correspond to the hook bait you use at all; it could be you use a red fish meal boilie coated with a yellow bird food paste mix. Or tiger nut coated in shrimp paste, or luncheon meat coated with aniseed flavoured ground bait based paste.

Try coating pop-up baits with paste to improve the effect and impact. It does not need to correspond to the flavour or base mix colour or anything else to make that essential difference and catching edge you need. Try adding cork granules or cork dust to your paste to make it buoyant or pop-up.

You can add cork granules and other very light or buoyant ingredients to make it float or hang in the water off the bottom or silt or weed for instance. Imagine the advantage of using a buoyant paste around a bottom bait or semi-buoyant bait and how frequently your fish will have had to deal with this! Using buoyant paste around bottom sinking hook baits can seriously save you blank sessions!

It is a commonly held angling myth that fish do not learn, but in truth very many species can be conditioned by angling activities, bait introduction etc and even koi carp can be trained to take baits from out of a keepers hands and be in a particular place in advance of feeding time! If you think carp do not learn just consider that over time when repeatedly hooked by anglers, they do not get easier to catch but harder! It’s just the same with hunting of other kinds. For this reason alone it is definitely in your best interests to find out as much as possible how to maximise the impact and effects of your hook baits and free baits because a trap is only as good as the bait!
